In
2006 Workshop on Algebraic Geometry and Physics will be part of the
3-month
research period on Gerbes, Groupoids,
and Quantum Field Theory
that
will take place at the Erwin Schrödinger Institute for
Mathematical Physics (ESI) in Vienna on May through July 2006. The
workshop will be the opening event of the 3-month period, on May 9 to
13, 2006, and is being organized by the Mathematical Physics
Group of the International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste
together with the universities of Alessandria, Munich and Vienna
and the Schrödinger Institute.
The programme will start in the
morning of May 9 and will end by midday of May 13. Therefore the
suggested arrival day is May 8, and the departure day may be May 13 or
14.
This workshop is the 10th event of a
series of workshops and schools which aim at fostering the interaction
between mathematicians working in pure algebraic geometry and
researchers who are interested in the applications of algebraic
geometry to physics. Information about the
previous events may be obtained from the web page
Accommodation: The secretariat of the
Schrödinger
institute will take care of the hotel bookings. Accommodation is
available at the Kaiser Franz Joseph Hotel in Sievering, a few
trolley stops away from the institute. The cost of accommodation will
be of 50 € per night; slightly cheaper accommodations, in the range of
40-42 € per night, are also available. Please note that no
support will be available for non-invited speakers.
Participation: Potential participants should fill in the pre-registration form and send it
by email to bruzzo@sissa.it
by February 5, 2006. Pre-registered participants will be
contacted by the Schrödinger Institute to finalize their
registration.
Those who
wish
to present a contribution
should enclose a short abstract. Proposed contributions will be
assessed by the Scientific Committee and the proponents will be
notified about the acceptance by March 15, 2006.
