Giuseppe Mussardo is Full Professor of Theoretical Physics at SISSA, where he coordinates the research activities of the Statistical Physics Group and the associated PhD. He is also research fellow of INFN and member of the Condensed Matter and Statistical Physics Group at the Abdus Salam Centre of Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste.

Chairman of INSTANS, the European network of ESF on interdisciplinary statistical and field theory research on low-dimensional quantum systems.

Editor of Journal of Statistical Mechanics. Theory and Experiments (JSTAT) and Nuclear Physics B. Field Theory and Statistical Mechanics. 

He is also interested in history of science and in creating more public awareness about it. Author of several articles on history of science and speaker of public lectures. Author of the documentary movies  Boltzmann. The genius of disorder  and  Chandra. The journey of a star.
