Gianluigi Rozza<\/strong> is the leader of the Rozza Group and coordinator of the SISSA mathLab laboratory.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is <\/span>Full Professor of Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing<\/b> (SSD MAT\/08, A1\/05)<\/span> at SISSA \u2013 International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste, Italy, where he also serves as <\/span>the Vice Coordinator of Mathematics Area and<\/span> Director\u2019s Delegate for Knowledge Valorisation, Innovation, Technology Transfer and Industrial Cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is among the <\/span>top 13 Italian Mathematicians<\/b> according to <\/span>Top Italian Scientists<\/span><\/a> (2026).<\/span><\/p>\n

Research Focus<\/span><\/span><\/h1>\n

Gianluigi Rozza\u2019s research lies at the intersection of mathematical modeling, numerical simulation, and scientific computing, with a consistent focus on reducing the computational cost of high-fidelity simulations.<\/span><\/p>\n

His early work developed within computational fluid dynamics and the numerical analysis of parametrized partial differential equations, where <\/span>model order reduction<\/b> (MOR) emerged as the central methodological axis of his research.<\/span><\/p>\n

He has contributed to the advancement of MOR techniques through the development of certified <\/span>Reduced Basis<\/b> methods for parametrized PDEs and through the use of <\/span>POD-Galerkin<\/b> approaches for fluid dynamics and related systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

The methodologies developed within this framework have been applied across several domains, including <\/span>advanced manufacturing<\/b>, <\/span>aerospace <\/b>and <\/span>naval engineering<\/b>, and <\/span>cardiovascular modeling<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

More recently, his research has expanded toward <\/span>real-time simulation<\/b> and <\/span>digital twins<\/b>, exploring the integration of model order reduction with data-driven modeling and machine learning.<\/span><\/p>\n
