The Rozza Group is part of the broader SISSA research environment in Mathematical Analysis, Modeling, and Applications, and operates within\u00a0SISSA mathLab<\/strong>, the laboratory dedicated to Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing.<\/p>\n

Within mathLab, the group serves as a central methodological core, contributing key expertise in mathematical modeling, numerical simulation, and scientific computing. Its activities are strongly oriented toward the integration of advanced methods with\u00a0real-world applications<\/strong>, particularly through collaborations with companies, competence centers, technological clusters, innovation ecosystems, and digital hubs.<\/p>\n

The Rozza Group also plays a coordinating and structuring role within mathLab. Its interaction with other research groups involved in the laboratory enables a coherent integration of methodological development, theoretical foundations, and application-driven research.<\/p>\n

Technology Transfer Initiatives<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

The Rozza Group is closely connected to initiatives in technology transfer and industrial innovation. In particular, it collaborates with the SISSA start-up <\/span>FAST Computing<\/b>, which focuses on the development and deployment of advanced computational methods for industrial applications. FAST Computing is often directly involved in initiatives developed within the Rozza Group, acting as both a partner and, in some cases, a promoter of these activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

This alignment between the group and a spin-off working on the same scientific domains enables faster validation of research outcomes in real-world scenarios and supports long-term collaborations with industrial partners. The connection extends to joint ventures such as <\/span>Dualistic<\/b> and <\/span>Simplifica<\/b>\u2014developed in collaboration with eXact Lab and Bio4Dreams, respectively\u2014further strengthening the link between research, development, and industrial application.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rozza Group maintains a strong connection with <\/span>SIMAI<\/b>, the Italian Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. Several members of the group are active within the society, contributing to its scientific activities and initiatives. In particular, Federico Pichi serves as a representative of the activity group on <\/span>Surrogate Models and Digital Twins<\/b> (ROM-DT), reflecting the group\u2019s leading role in these research areas. The Rozza Group also contributed to the organization of the 2025 edition of the SIMAI biennial conference, hosted at SISSA.<\/span><\/p>\n

SISSA is among the Founding Members of <\/span>iNEST<\/b>, the Interconnected Nord-Est Innovation Ecosystem, funded under the national plan for recovery and resilience. The Rozza Group is the main scientific contributor to <\/span>Spoke 9<\/b>, led by SISSA, which focuses on models, methods, and computational technologies for digital twins. Within this context, the group contributes to the development of advanced mathematical and computational approaches aimed at enabling scalable, reliable, and application-oriented digital twin solutions across multiple domains.<\/span><\/p>\n

SMACT <\/span><\/span>\u2013 <\/strong><\/span><\/span>Odyssea\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Our group plays a leading role in <\/span>Odyssea<\/b>, a Digital Twin Live Demo for Industry 4.0 in Friuli Venezia Giulia by <\/span>SMACT Competence Center<\/b>. Odyssea is a platform dedicated to the collection and development of high-value digital twin use cases, aimed at demonstrating their potential and accelerating the adoption of these technologies.
