Travel
Uppsala is within easy reach with Sweden’s largest international airport only 35 KM away. It is also within reach of two small airports, connected to various destinations across Europe, using Ryanair, Wizzair, Thomson Fly and Vidlanden.
Please note that: Sweden does not use Euros, but uses Swedish kronors (SEK)!!!
Airports and Connections:
1) Arlanda (main airport in Sweden)
This is about 45 mins away by bus. no. 801 which you can get from
outside the terminal buildings. The cost is 100 SEK and you can pay
on the bus. The bus drivers will give change, so you don't need the
exact amount. This bus brings you direct to Uppsala Central Bus
Station.
Alternatively: you can take a train from under the airport to
Uppsala
C (costs 100 SEK)
2) Skavsta
This is about 90 mins away from the centre of Stockholm. There will
be special shuttle services (runs every 15-20 mins) to Stockholm
Central (costing 199 SEK return).
From Stockholm you can take the
coach to Uppsala (swebus) (cost ~50-70 SEK one way)
Alternatively: you can take a train from Stockholm to Uppsala (costs
~60 SEK)
3) Vasteras
This about 60-70mins away from Uppsala. You can get a direct coach
from the airport to
Uppsala C (costs 200 SEK return). You buy the tickets from the
information desk at the airport. This will leave about 45 mins after
the flight has landed.
From Uppsala Centrum: you can most probably walk to your respective
hotels.
